Homemade Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Makes 1 ½ quarts of ice cream.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 2-5 drops green food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Dissolve the sugar in the milk in a separate bowl using a whisk or hand mixer. (about 2 minutes)
  • Pour mixture into the ice cream maker, and turn on.
  • Add in the heavy cream, peppermint extract, and food coloring.
  • Allow mixture to churn until thick. (about 10 minutes)
  • Add chocolate chips and churn for another 5 minutes.
