The Amazon original movie, “Something From Tiffany’s,” is a holiday romance that was released earlier this month. Produced by Reese Witherspoon and starring Zoey Deutch and Kendrick Sampson, the movie is based off of the novel of the same name by Melissa Hill.
This review is spoiler-free, except for some details that are shown in the trailers for the movie.

The Story
The movie begins with Ethan (Sampson) and his daughter standing in Tiffany’s looking at engagement rings. Meanwhile, another man enters the shop, purchases earrings, and then walks out of the store. But, instead of looking up before stepping on the busy street, he remains glued to his cell phone and gets hit by a taxi.
While Ethan is helping Gary and the paramedics, he grabs a Tiffany’s bag – the one containing earrings. When Rachel (Deutch) opens the ring on Christmas morning, believes Gary is proposing. And Gary goes with it.
As Ethan tries to contact Gary and get the ring back, a friendship with Rachel is formed, all while she is wearing the engagement ring.

My Thoughts on “Something From Tiffany’s”
Just like the movie I reviewed earlier during Blogmas, this isn’t the most ‘deep’ story. Instead, it’s a great mixture of Christmas time in New York City and the realities of being in relationships going nowhere. You can’t help but feel bad for Rachel. Gary clearly couldn’t care less about her feelings or maintaining a real relationship, but she’s convinced herself that their relationship is perfect and will last.
Meanwhile Ethan’s girlfriend is just… blah. There’s nothing that exciting or intriguing about her. With two love interests that are snooze-worthy, the chemistry between Ethan and Rachel is more prominent.
Overall, if you’re looking for a sweet holiday romance film, this movie is a great way to relax and spend 90 minutes. If I had to choose between this film and the Lindsay Lohan one, I’d absolutely pick this one. The story was slightly more unique, but the visual aspects of the movie itself are superior. It captures that warm, glow of the holidays while also depicting NYC during the winter months.
