I can’t believe there’s only 3 more episodes of season 2 of Only Murders in the Building! It feels like it just started! If you haven’t heard, the show has been renewed for a third season. So, at least the end that’s coming isn’t “the end.”
*this post will contain spoilers for season 2, episode 6, “Performance Review”
My Thoughts & Reactions
I’ve said from episode 1 that I didn’t like Alice. And the beginning of the episode just further proves my point. I was not at all shocked when Mabel goes to see Alice and finds them recreating the crime scene. I’m sure there’s going to be some BS excuse about making ‘art’ but no. Just no.
When Jan said to Charles that they never broke up and were still in a relationship, I couldn’t stop laughing. It was just too much for me. Though I will say I’m almost positive that as she leaned over Charles after poisoning him that she says something about it being her ‘worst breakup ever.’ I could be wrong, but I’m not sure.
If my years in regional theater and wild orgies have taught me anything, it’s that there is no getting rid of glitter.
Oliver Putnam (Martin Short)
The glitter bomb was amazing. I definitely wasn’t expecting an actual bomb, I just thought the glitter would get dumped on them or something so it wouldn’t be as obvious. But looking back, I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting it to be a show.
As soon as Oliver got back into the car after planting the bag, I knew they were going to miss it. And it was infuriating to watch. But, what got me was that none of the people in the park or sidewalk reacted to a bomb of pink glitter. How??? I know we need to suspend our disbelief, but… come on. And then seeing the killer on the train – are we really supposed to believe that they didn’t bother attempting to get the glitter off? There was just so much of it, especially on their torso and head, it’s not like they didn’t see any of it.
Do you think Mabel attacked the killer? Or could the killer have set Mabel up? Or maybe they attacked Mabel first? What do you think? What if it was someone else on the train – like Cinda Canning trying to get a reaction out of Mabel.
My Theories After “Performance Review”
After watching this episode, my theories haven’t changed too much, even though they probably should have by now. I just don’t see other potential killers.
If anything, I’d say that perhaps there are 2 people involved in killing Bunny, not just one. I did briefly think Detective Kreps could be involved, especially after Cinda made the comment about his career and needing to solve this case. And I suppose he would be more physically able to accomplish everything. But I’m still not convinced.
Tell me your thoughts!
