Thank you so much to Harloe Rae and the team at Candi Kane PR for allowing me to be a part of the Doing It Right release! I feel so lucky and can’t wait to work together again!
Harloe Rae’s latest release, Doing It Right, follows high school sweethearts Presley and Mason. I’ve been looking forward to reading Presley’s happily ever after since reading There’s Always Someday last fall, and once again, this book didn’t disappoint.
Diving Right In
It’s hard not to fall for Mason Baxter the second you pick up this book. Just the prologue is filled with so much emotion in only a few pages, and it only gets better.
Doing It Right is fast-paced, but not rushed. Even though you only get glimpses of their high school relationship, you never feel like you are missing out on important details. And even though 7 years have passed, they still work as a couple. It’s impossible to not root for them.
Family Dynamics
Mason and Presley have no trouble picking up right where they left off. But, there are 2 new additions to their family unit. There’s Archie, the cutest toddler ever, and his father, Chad. And while there’s some tension with Chad, it’s not how you’d think. I absolutely love the twist that Chad brings.
But more importantly, Mason immediately loves Archer as if he was his own son. From the moment they meet, Archie is obsessed with Mason, as any toddler would be with a new person in their life. But the reciprocity is what is really swoon-worthy.

My Final Verdict on Doing It Right
I loved being able to escape into Mason and Presley’s story. This second-chance romance does have some angst, but the doubts Presley has about Mason are always second to her love for him. It doesn’t take a ton of arm twisting for Mason to get back in her good graces, but honestly, if I was her, I’d be the exact same way.
If you’re looking for a book that has nothing but happiness in it, this is the book for you. It is nothing but cute, wholesome moments with some spice mixed in.
