The past week has been great for my reading – which is just the escape from reality I’ve needed! Tia Louise’s new release, The Way We Touch, is a brother’s best friend football romance. This story hooked me from page 1, and I ended up reading it in one sitting while on a flight back to Seattle. I had a very long day of traveling (a 7 hour car ride where I was in the backseat as my 2 year old niece’s entertainment, waiting in an airport for 3 hours, and then a 6 hour flight). I was already exhausted by the time I powered on my kindle, but this book was so captivating, my exhaustion suddenly disappeared.
**I received a free, advanced copy of this book for reviewing purposes. Thank you to the author, Tia Louise, and to Grey’s Promotions for including me in this release!**

The Story
When NFL player Logan is in need of a change of scenery during the off-season, he heads down south and joins teammate in his small town down south. But when he meets Dylan, he’s almost ‘killed’ with a ghost pepper, and he finds himself falling fast for his best friend’s little sister.
Dylan comes from a big football family, and has the overprotective big brothers to prove it. But, it’s not an overbearing protectiveness (at least I don’t think it is), it’s more ‘normal’ or reasonable. Despite her brothers, her cheating ex continues to harass her, often showing up at work and insulting her family’s business.
After another hilarious accident with hot peppers (which had me laughing out loud on the plane), and one spicy bathroom moment, Logan talks to his friend about dating Dylan, and they stop denying their chemistry.

My Verdict on The Way We Touch
As I said, this book hooked me from page one. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable and the banter between Dylan an Logan is too good.
I’m very much in my ‘hockey romance era,’ (though I don’t think I ever was not in it) but reading a football story was a surprisingly nice change of pace. Unlike hockey, I know maybe 3 things about football. So the jargon could have been completely wrong and I would have assumed it was true.
The Way We Touch, earns an outstanding 5 out of 5 stars from me. I can’t wait for the next release in the fall, which will follow Zane, one of Dylan’s brothers. It’s pretty rare that I rate a book 5 stars. I’m incredibly brutal with my ratings. So two books in a row (see post here), is even more rare. Tia Louise knows how to kick off a new series – just like her last series, Be Still, book number one is going to end up one of my top books of the year.
